The filming of the 1994 movie ‘Interview with the Vampire’ was memorable for Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt not only because of the work itself, but also thanks to an unusual activity they shared at the end of each day. It seems both actors had a great time on set.
In June 2025, the premiere of the film Formula 1 took place, in which Brad Pitt plays a race car driver who decides to return to professional racing to mentor a young pilot and regain the public spotlight. A bit earlier, Tom Cruise had commented on the film starring Brad Pitt, praising his exceptional driving skills. He attributed this to their time on Interview with the Vampire, when, after wrapping up filming each day, the two of them would go go-kart racing late into the night.
Brad Pitt’s Negative Memories of Filming Interview with the Vampire
While Tom Cruise clearly retained fond memories of working on Interview with the Vampire, which was later adapted into a television series, Brad Pitt’s experience was different. He disliked working on this horror film, much like he later did on Troy, largely because most of the action took place in the dark.
In a 2011 interview, Brad Pitt admitted that he was unhappy during the shoot. He described spending six months in darkness, wearing contact lenses and heavy makeup, and playing a character he found unpleasant. He explained that he had initially been captivated by the character of Lestat de Lioncourt after reading the novel and agreed to join the project without realizing he would be cast as Louis de Pointe du Lac. He received the script only two weeks before filming began.
